The BrightScreen MPD has a 6mm diagonal split image set in a microprism collar. The MPD screen is best with eye level finders, geometric subjects such as architecture, and for general photography.
BrightScreen MPD Works Best for These Uses:
Eye Level View Finders:
- Rotating the camera to line up the split is not an inconvenience
with an eye level finder - (I’ve made the split diagonal to minimize the amount of tilting
required, whether with an eye level or a waist level finder)
Architecture & Geometric Subjects:
- Where you do have clear, crisp lines in the subject for a target,
the split image is very quick and precise to use.
General Photography:
- If you shoot a broad variety of subjects, the MPD screen
includes a microprism collar around the central split that can be
used wherever it works better than the split image.
| Please Note: | It is NOT SAFE to use chemical cleaners on BrightScreens, this includes lens cleaner and isopropyl alcohol. Use ONLY canned air, distilled water or a dry microfiber cloth to clean the screen. To minimize the need for cleaning, protect the screen by keeping the viewfinder hood closed whenever you’re not actually using it. |

Ordered and installed one on my Yashicaflex Model C. Huge difference instantly. I now feel much more comfortable and less blind shooting in medium or low-light conditions. I’ve now bought two Brightscreens – one for a Mamiya C330 and one for a Rolleiflex SL66. They are both amazing and fit just like a glove. I was skeptical at first if zero really could be kept absolutely precise, but after testing with a focus chart I can assure that the brightscreens really are a drop-in solution. I would not hesitate to buy another one.
