BrightScreen MP Works Best for These Uses:
Waist Level Finders in general:
- You never have to tilt the camera to line up the focus aid on
your subject (tilting an eye level camera is no big deal, but it’s a
pain with a waist level finder.
Portraits & Still-Lifes:
- The microprism doesn’t need a straight line in the subject to
focus on – in fact, it doesn’t need a line at all. It can show
focus on a small detail (like an eye) or a softly graded transition
(like a shadow on a face)

I’ve ordered 3 of these so far. 2 for my Rb’s and 1 for my Pentax 6×7. They are great! Rick is very responsive and ships super quick!

I ordered an MP for my Yashica Mat 124G (along with an MPD for my Mamiya RB67). The screen has made a huge difference – it is much brighter and easier to focus compared to the old one. The turnaround time on my order was fast, and the included instructions were thorough and easy to follow. Highly recommended all around.

WOW! Before I get into the I just want to say first off – the customer service from Lance and Rick is sensational. From start to finish, the communication via automated and personal email is fantastic. I even lost a screw in cleaning my original screen and Lance and team were kind enough to give me the specifications needed to order more AND send one out in the mail. to my eyes, customer service is the NUMBER ONE thing a company can provide and bright-screen and Rick and Lance have nailed it – now onto the screen itself.
It’s FANTASTIC – my Rolleicord mk3 has a new lease on life and now that I’m not squinting to see what my frame looks like, I can go out and really enjoy it as it should be!
Do yourself a favor and just go ahead and buy one asap. I purchased the MP with rule of thirds pattern, I’m almost tempted to buy a few others, I’m that impressed by how much of a difference it makes.
I’ll be ordering one for my Yashica 635 and for my Rolleiflex when I finally get around to buying one.
Fantastic product and stellar customer service, you will not be disappointed. I’m in Australia too and I received the order very quickly!

WOW! The Rick Oleson screen in my Rolleicord IV has improved the viewfinder experience by 3000%. Intitially, my VF wasn’t good enough to frame a scene (I used the sports VF for that) nor focus without a struggle every exposure.
Instructions for installation and use were very helpful. Thanks for a wonderful product which has transformed my TLR.

So much brighter than the Rolleiflex original, makes low light photography actually possible. There was an issue with the shipping, but they were able to work it out super fast, and were very helpful through the whole process. Could not have had a better experience, keep up the good work.

Received the screen for my Phase One XF, installed it easily, and it works flawlessly without any issues or calibrations needed. Excellent quality, and it’s helping me a lot to compose my shots while in the field. Thanks again! Will recommend it to the P1 community!

I’ve bought the Rick Oleson screen for my Bronica S2A, and what could I say? It’s just outstanding! It’s brighter than the original one, so it’s much easier to focus and compose the shot.
The communication regarding the shipping was great, the included manual and additional foam for fixing Bronica’s focusing issues were very handy. It’s great to see the focus on actually making the customer’s experience better, rather than just selling products.
Lance and Rick, thank you!

I bought a new screen for my Zenza Bronica sq-a with Grid Pattern 6603. The delivery was very fast, the packaging at the top. It was very easy to install the screen and it worked immediately without calibration or any issue. Excellent! A new life for my old Zenza.

Yashica mat 124g- new plate is well made and fits well. I didn’t need to shim to regain focus, after removing both the old glass and frenel lens.
My only gripe, and this is down to personal preference and not the product itself.. is that having replaced the old mat glass with the mp, the central lens is really distracting. I’ve ordered a 2nd glass in mat, and I’m hoping this will be a little better for me, as it would be a closer match to the original.
It does make a difference in brightness, but the biggest difference I found was with the ‘grain’ of the original glass vs the new, which is alot less pronounced.
Video instructions would be a handy thing to have, as the paper ones although clear… kinda meant I had to do the operation twice as the first time I left in both parts of the original glass instead of removing both.
